instruction No. 02/2021-22.
This instruction reiterates mandatory compliance with the Information Sharing Protocol (ISP) for sharing economic offence data with CEIB. It notes serious deficiencies in timely, regular, and complete sharing of information by law enforcement agencies, which undermines the reliability of credit reports relied upon by public sector banks. All GST formations are directed to share offence-related information at each prescribed stage, including detection, SCN, adjudication, prosecution, and conviction, strictly within stipulated timelines. Even cases already placed in the public domain must be reported to CEIB. A nodal officer is required to ensure regular and accurate reporting. Non-adherence to the ISP is viewed seriously to ensure effective inter-agency coordination and financial risk management.
